Treadmill sightings...

I did a long run on the treadmill yesterday.

Here's a couple of things you'll see on a cruise ship treadmill,

A couple of guys walking at 1.0 in flannel shirts and work boots.

On the other side of me, a couple wearing winter coats.

Yes, we're headed to Alaska, but it's 76 degrees in that gym. The woman was even wearing a ushanka!

New Shoes...

I've put almost 400 miles on my blue Brooks Ravenna 3's.

They're still in really great shape though. The treads are still strong and the cushioning is still plush.

Still, 400 miles is a lot for a pair of shoes.

This afternoon we walked by Fleet Feet in Seattle and they had the new Ravenna 4's.

I've seen the Ravenna 4's in a few other places, but I haven't seen the green ones with the black soles. They're the ones that I've been looking for.

The Ravenna 4's that I usually see are the red and white ones with the white soles. I don't like white soles on my running shoes because they get too dirty.

These green ones are cool.

Fleet Feet was having a Memorial Day sale so the shoes were 20% off.

I couldn't resist! I bought them.

My wife Jeannie ran 10 miles yesterday and was sore from walking the hills in Seattle. She saw a muscle roller and went to work.

While I tried on shoes, she rolled away all of her problems.

We also stopped in at Molly at Molly Moon's for some ice cream.

What a great day!

There's snow here...

It's cold here.

I know that sounds like a silly statement. We're in Alaska so of course it's cold.

I just didn't expect it to be this cold for this long. I thought it would be chilly, just not cold.

Please know, I'm not complaining. Just surprised.

The air is so crisp and clean, you can't complain.

Also, this is the view every time I look out the window.

When I run, this is my track.

How can you complain about that?

I brought a running jacket, but not running tights.

We were told that we'd be able to wear shorts and short sleeved shirts while we're here. Well, I think we've still got a few weeks before we'll be able to do that.

Bulls...

Did 10 miles on the treadmill last night as I watched the Bulls game.

My legs felt great and there was a point that I thought I might just keep running. Even though I was only scheduled for 10 miles, I felt like I could keep going for awhile.

It's amazing that I was able to keep going without any effort at all because my mind was completely distracted by the game.

The only reason I stopped was because we were doing an Improv show 10 minutes after the game was over and there was no way I was going to be able to shower and get up to the theater in time in 10 minutes.

The Bulls, as you know, lost. But, I'm confident they're going to win on Monday.

I bought this jersey for my wife because Joakim Noah is her favorite player. She wears the jersey every time she watches the Bulls play.

We only get 5 TV channels on our TV's on the cruise ship so it's rare we actually get to see any Chicago sports games. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the game is on our ESPN feed on Monday. If it is, I'll run non-stop until the game is over.

Now, if I could find a way to wear a TV on my head during races, I'd be able to run non-stop for 4 hours without any worries!

Running Everywhere...

We're traveling everywhere right now. We've gone from Miami to Cartagena, Columbia to Costa Rica to Hualtulco to Cabo to Los Angeles to San Francisco to Oregon. Now, we're in Victoria, Canada.

We've been to Victoria before. It's beautiful and I love it here.

From here we're headed to Vancouver and then to Alaska.

Here are some photos from the places we've visited.

Here's my wife Jeannie and our castmate Brett climbing the hills in San Francisco.

Notice I'm not running in any of these pictures. Well, I'm still getting my miles in at the treadmill, but running outdoors hasn't been possible.

Next week, we'll settle in to Alaska and I'll finally be able to hit the pavement.
